Cooling Down Properly
We all know how great aerobic exercise can be for weight loss. However, after vigorous aerobic exercise it is important to take 10 minutes or so just to cool down. This does not simply mean to shut down and lay on the ground after working out, but to gradually bring your body back down to a restful state. Stopping abruptly may actually be harmful for the body.
Cooling down properly helps redistribute the blood that may have pooled in certain muscles or body parts that was strenuously used during workout. Cooling down and distributing your blood properly helps prevent muscle stiffness because it allows the metabolic wastes to be worked out of your muscles. This creates a efficiency in your body’s metabolism.
